Truck hits pedestrian on Las Vegas Boulevard North

A pedestrian was injured this afternoon when he was hit by a truck on Las Vegas Boulevard North.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said the accident occurred at 12:16 p.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard North, just south of Bonanza Road.

The pedestrian, a male, was transported to University Medical Center with injuries not considered life threatening. Hixson said the man suffered from bruising and some broken bones.

Though details were few, Hixson described the truck as a "semi-tanker."

Troopers shut down southbound traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard from Bonanza to U.S. 95 while they completed their investigation.
