Suspect in June apartment complex shooting arrives at Clark County Detention Center

A man arrested in Fresno, Calif., in connection with shooting and killing a man in Las Vegas arrived today at the Clark County Detention Center after extradition.

Brian Beltran, 35, was arrested June 26 in Fresno on one count each of murder with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed firearm or other deadly weapon.

Beltran shot and killed Kenneth Mallett on June 24 after an argument in the parking lot of the Camden Breeze Apartments in the 7100 block of Smoke Ranch Road, according to a Metro Police warrant report.

Metro said Beltran is a member of the Bulldogs gang in Fresno and that the shooting was potentially gang-related.

Beltran will appear in court at 7:30 a.m. Friday.
