Expect traffic delays along West Tropical Parkway starting next week while construction crews add pedestrian and bike paths to the street.
Starting Monday, the road’s eastbound and westbound lanes will be under construction between Janell Drive and North Bonita Vista Street. The work zone stretches about a half-mile east and west of Tropical Parkway and Durango Drive.
Crews will be blocking off some lanes, though traffic will still flow through the area at a slower pace. City officials suggest using Ann Road as an alternate east-west travel route.
The project will run for two weeks, generally between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Las Vegas is managing the $130,000 project, completed by contractor Las Vegas Paving Corp.
