A woman struck by a vehicle this evening in the western valley suffered critical injuries, Metro Police said.
The accident happened about 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard. A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when a vehicle traveling south on Decatur Boulevard hit her, Lt. Dan Zehnder said.
The victim’s condition became increasingly critical as she was being transported to University Medical Center, Zehnder said.
The driver remained at the scene and does not appear to be impaired by drugs or alcohol, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
