Letter to the editor:

We have the right to refuse health care

F. George Tucker states in a recent letter to the editor, “Republicans wrong about health care,” that “everyone has the right to health care.”

Yes, everyone has the right to health care. The key words are “have the right.” This should not mean that we are forced to buy it if we don’t want it!

Robert Heinlien once said, “There is no worse tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want merely because you think it would be good for him.”

The letter writer must be getting “facts” from the mainstream media, because my many friends in Germany, the United Kingdom and France tell me horror stories of their lack of competent health care. They get health care all right; but, it is not timely nor is it quality health care.

If you desire Obamacare, then, please, by all means get it. But, do not infringe on our Constitutional right of not accepting it when we don’t need it because we have accepted the responsibility of properly caring for our good health by diet and exercise. If everyone started caring about their lifestyles and their health, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.
