CARSON CITY — Gov. Brian Sandoval has left on a trade mission to Israel.
Sandoval’s office said the trip will last about a week, but more details were not released due to security concerns.
The trip is part of an effort by the Office of Economic Development to encourage more trade between Nevada and Israel.
The governor said in a press release that “with similarly arid landscapes and complimentary expertise in water resource technology and management, Israel and Nevada have already established a partnership that will help both our states into the future.”
The governor was accompanied by businessmen and officials from UNLV, UNR and the Desert Research Institute.
Nevada, according to the press release, exported $129 million in goods to Israel and imported $114 million in 2012.
