The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated 4-3 Friday in overtime at the Colorado Eagles.
Ray Sawada scored the game-winner for Colorado less than three minutes into overtime, evening the three-game ECHL series at one game apiece.
Las Vegas scored three unanswered goals to erase an early two-goal deficit and take a 3-2 lead in the third period.
Geoff Irvin scored at the 17:45 minute mark of the first period for the Wranglers with Matt Tassone assisting on the goal. In the second, Geoff Paukovich tallied for Las Vegas; in the third, Chris Francis scored.
But Colorado, which outshot Las Vegas 40-21, posted the final two goals for the win. The Eagles evened the scored at 3-all at the 13:30 mark of the third on a goal from Luke Fulghum to force overtime.
The series concludes Saturday. The Wranglers are back at the Orleans Arena Dec. 6 to face Bakersfield. The Smithereens will play a post-game concert.
