Motorcyclist may have been racing before serious wreck on I-15

Crash

A motorcyclist who may have been racing with a car was seriously hurt when he crashed this afternoon on Interstate 15, highway patrol officials said.

The motorcyclist was traveling north on the highway just before the exit for Sloan when he apparently lost control of his vehicle and crashed, according to Trooper Jeremie Elliott with the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Motorists reportedly spotted a motorcyclist “in a speed contest between a Corvette” near the Sloan Road exit shortly before the wreck.

The injured motorcyclist was flown to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

No other vehicles were involved, and the crash did not affect traffic because it occurred near an off-ramp to Sloan, Elliott said.
