letter to the editor:

Who is left to vote Republican?

Anybody who watches the news has seen Republicans in Congress rant and rave about poor people not working and receiving food stamps, even as politicians continue to fight tooth and nail to keep the minimum wage as low as possible.

Corporate welfare is called subsidies while help for the poor is called “welfare.”

This is coming from people who make $174,000 a year for 126 days of work a year. Most of them are millionaires and have no idea what real work means.

Yet, you never hear a reporter question these people about the irony of what they are saying. I find it amazing that anybody in their right mind who is not rich would vote for any Republican.

It is insane to vote for a party whose main objective is to keep you down, and the majority in this country are either middle class or poor (or soon to be poor, at the rate we are going).

The Republican agenda is to destroy the government, wipe out Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, food stamps, unemployment insurance and anything else that helps the citizens of this country.

They’ve declared war on poor people, women’s rights, gays, minorities, senior citizens, voters’ rights, young people, you name it.

Yet, large blocks of these people vote for them. Which of these categories are you in?
