Accident

A 41-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday afternoon after a wreck in the southern Las Vegas Valley.

Metro Police Lt. Mark Reddon said the motorcyclist crashed with a car about 5:40 p.m. on South Maryland Parkway and Silverado Ranch Boulevard.

Evidence and witness statements indicate the motorcycle was headed east on Silverado Ranch Boulevard when a Kia sedan entered its path, turning left from the westbound lane into a home driveway, police said.

The motorcycle slammed into the side of the sedan, killing the rider. The impact sent the car spinning clockwise into the front of a nearby car, police said.

The driver of the Kia sedan had minor injuries; no one else was injured.

Metro is investigating the collision.
