An infant who died on Memorial Day after sustaining injuries that raised the suspicion of law enforcement has been identified as 1-year-old Bently Olsen.
The boy, who lived in North Las Vegas, was admitted to University Medical Center on May 19. Hospital staff contacted Metro Police in regards to the injuries, and detectives examined the infant and determined an investigation was warranted, according to a Metro Police statement.
Olsen died on May 27. The Clark County Coroner’s Office, who identified the boy Friday, has yet to determine the cause of death.
The investigation into the death is ongoing, according to Metro Police.
