Cooling problems cut classes short at northeast valley school

Richard Rundle Elementary

Air-conditioning problems at Richard Rundle Elementary School in the northeast valley are causing an early end to classes today, the first day of 2013 in which Las Vegas officially recorded temperatures above the century mark.

The Clark County School district this afternoon said work is underway at the school, 425 N Christy Lane., near Stewart Avenue and Nellis Boulevard, to repair the cooling problems.

But for now, parents and guardians of Rundle students are asked to pick up their children as soon as possible. If parents are unable to pick up their children, they will be kept safe on campus, the district said in a news release. Buses will operate at the regularly scheduled pickup time.

Parents are asked to call the school’s main office at 799-7380 if they have any questions.
