Las Vegas man sentenced after using Medicaid money at clubs

A Las Vegas man has been sentenced to three to 10 years behind bars after prosecutors say he bilked Medicaid out of about $2 million and spent more than $100,000 of it at bars and clubs.

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto announced the sentence against 34-year-old Ini Odong on Tuesday.

A jury found Odong guilty of charges including submitting false Medicaid claims, theft, and intentionally failing to maintain adequate records.

Investigators say Odong used another person's name to establish a company called Golden Heart Medical Supply, and billed Medicaid on behalf of non-existent clients.

Prosecutors say Odong withdrew about $300,000 in cash and spent more than $100,000 at bars and clubs using company account cards.

Odong was also ordered to pay $2.3 million in restitution and costs.
