Retired Nevada judge appears to be recovering from car accident

Retired Nevada Supreme Court Justice Bob Rose has been transferred to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment after being injured in a one-car rollover in Fallon on Saturday.

The Nevada Highway Patrol said Monday that Rose’s SUV was eastbound on U.S. 50 when he apparently lost control of the vehicle, which traveled over to the westbound lane, went off the highway and hit a power pole. The car overturned and came to rest on its wheels.

The patrol said Rose, 73, sustained critical injuries and was taken to the hospital in Fallon and later transferred to the Reno hospital.

He was wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the accident, the patrol said.

The Nevada Supreme Court said Rose, now a senior justice, suffered rib and sternum injuries that are not life threatening. He was on his way to conduct a drug court at the time of the accident.
