Two people flown to Las Vegas hospital after motorcycle crash

Two people were airlifted to a hospital after a motorcycle accident Friday near the western fringe of Clark County.

The Nevada Highway Patrol received a report at 11:23 a.m. of the crash involving a BMW motorcycle on State Route 160, also known as Blue Diamond Road.

The accident occurred on the opposite side of the mountain pass from Las Vegas, closer to Pahrump, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said. The cause of the crash is not known.

No other vehicles were involved, Hixson said.

The male driver and female passenger were flown to University Medical Center, but the extent of their injuries was not immediately known, Hixson said.

Troopers were still on the scene investigating at 1:45 p.m.
