Woman hospitalized after being hit by car in Las Vegas

A woman was taken to the hospital in unknown condition Thursday after she was hit by a car while crossing the street at the intersection of Charleston and Las Vegas Boulevards, Metro Police officials said.

Police received reports of the incident about 6:35 a.m. The woman was in the crosswalk when a black car hit her and then drove off, police said.

She was transported to University Medical Center. Her condition was not immediately available.

The intersection was closed while police investigate.
