Coroner ID’s two people killed in weekend car wrecks

Two people killed in separate car accidents over the weekend have been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

The first accident occurred about 7:50 p.m. Friday. Las Vegas resident Victor Eduardo Vargas, 21, was driving at Sandhill Road and Owens Avenue when he collided with a bus, Metro Police said. He died from multiple injuries from the crash, the coroner’s office said.

On Saturday, 15-year-old Robert Lee Brown of Las Vegas was killed after the car he was riding in crashed into a light pole on Rainbow Boulevard, near Lake Mead Boulevard, officials said.

Police said the driver, Arturo Castillo, was suspected of driving under the influence when he lost control of the car and crashed into the pole.

Castillo was arrested and booked into Clark County Detention Center on a felony DUI count.
