A 24-year-old Henderson man who admitted to slashing the tires of numerous vehicles in his gated neighborhood was arrested Saturday afternoon, police said.
The tire slashings were first reported at 1:50 a.m. at Indian Bend Drive in the Grand Legacy community near Wigwam Parkway and Valle Verde Drive by a resident who said his tires had been slashed, Henderson Police said.
During their investigation, police said they found 32 other vehicles with slashed tires on Indian Bend and Oakmarsh drives, and Grossinger, Alisal and Walden courts.
One resident had surveillance footage of a man in a black suit walking up to a car and slashing its tires.
Police then went to the home of Andrew Ayala, where they saw a black suit jacket draped over the seat of Ayala’s SUV in the driveway of his mother’s home, police said.
Ayala gave a fake name at first and denied wrongdoing but later admitted to the crimes and said he had used a 5-inch blade to slash the tires, police said.
He was arrested Saturday afternoon on two felony counts of destruction of property and held on $50,000 bail in the Henderson Detention Center, police said.
Anyone with information in this case is urged to call the Henderson Police Department at (702) 267-4750 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com.

One has to wonder if he is a manager of one of the tire joints around town.
A real winner. Lock him up for 20 years. No excuse for destroying property.
I'm guessing he is a commissioned salesman for a tire dealer. Or, he really is angry at tires.
Really? A salesman/manager with a job is going to risk the next 50-60 years of his life by having a felony record attached to his name??? Denied employment? Denied a loan? Denied an apartment? Fail every background check?
I doubt it. Highly doubt it.
This sounds like a general miscreant vandal angry at life.
This person is totally sick..and this town definately needs more good cops, and we need cops who patrol neighbourhoods, not coffee shops.
I guess a 24 year-old living with Mom has nothing better to do.
24 year old still living with Mom out slashing tires in his neighborhood? What a loser!! What is he 14 years old? Get a life dude...
Slashed all the tires on 32 vehicles? Sounds like a meth user to me..
The POS admits he did it but doesn't give a reason why he did it. 32 cars, 4 tires per is 128 tires x $150-$175 is about $20,000. Confiscate his SUV, sell it tomorrow and reimburse these victims.
At least man up and say "I did it because I'm mad at life"....
Even if we were to believe the tire salesman story, there's no guarantee any of these victims would buy tires from his place of business. What's he going to do?...put a business card on their windshield?
Think of all the problems he causes these people, who have to work for a living.

OK, he will be granted bail on Monday and then his trial will be about a year or two from now. Not because the courts are too busy, but his lawyer will claim to need more time to prepare his defense. In the end our gallant District Attorney, Steven Wolfson will cut a deal with him. It will be a deferred sentence so if he doesn't get in trouble for a year or two the charges will be dropped. And he will have to pay for the tires. Of course he has no money so they will only be paid for by the owners. End of Story.

Jerks like this are on the bottom rung of the criminal ladder because it's simply a crime of destruction. There's no monetary gain for them. They aren't stealing something out of your car to sell and buy food, pay rent or even buy drugs to satisfy their habit. They don't know you or have any connection to you. It's simply a crime of anger, jealousy or some other defective rationale.
