Driveway shooting
A man was shot in the hand Thursday morning after he interrupted a burglary at his son’s home, Metro Police said.
Police said the victim and his wife were checking their son’s home in the 7200 block of Copper Road around 6 a.m. when they discovered a vehicle in the driveway. A woman was in the driver’s seat. A second woman who was coming out of the home confronted the man.
Preliminary investigation indicates the woman leaving the home grabbed a handgun from the waiting car and fired, striking the man in the hand, police said.
The suspects drove off in a dark gray sedan with a shattered driver’s side window.
Police are searching for two Hispanic females in their late 20s. The driver was described as having a muscular build, while the passenger had long, black hair, police said. Police consider them armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Metro Police at 828-5634, or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
