A judge says two men should face trial on felony attempted murder and battery with a weapon charges in the stabbing of a tourist last month in a Las Vegas Strip resort elevator.
Justice of the Peace Conrad Hafen viewed elevator video and heard testimony from the victim before deciding Wednesday there was enough evidence to send the case against Trent Wilcox and Carlos Heredia to state court.
Video shows the two men exchanging words with California tourist Eric Miller and his wife, Diane Androvich, before the 2 a.m. Feb. 16 attack on an upper guest floor at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay.
According to testimony and police, everyone in the elevator had been drinking.
Hafen scheduled Wilcox and Heredia for arraignment March 19 in Clark County District Court.

Boy... in watching the video, it sure puts a different light on the story painted early on, that of a helpless tourist couple accosted by evil thugs in a strip hotel elevator.
Yep. 4 morons drunk out of their minds getting mouthy and physical. You can't hit someone. You can't kick someone. Once the knife was pulled out it escalated to attempted murder.
The video of the event doens't show the couple as innocent victims, it shows the wife with two hands pushing one guy out of the elevator, and then after the couple left the husband comes running back in as if to attack one of the two guys in the elevator.
The sad thing is if no knife were entered in to this it would have just been drunken stupidity. Pull out a weapon and all off a sudden disorderly conduct becomes attempted murder. People need more self control, the tourists and the two young men.
Looks like self-defense. Oh wait, the couple was white? Never mind! Attempted murder!
Funny how these bigots will go out of their way justifying the killing of a teenager who is merely walking - yet here, attempted murder charges are justified b/c well - one can't respond with such force if there is physical violence against you?
Please, shut the front door.
Make an example out of'em. We can't have stupid drunken thugs (who else would carry a concealed knife in a major hotel at 2am?) scaring away stupid drunken tourists.
