Suspect arrested
A man wanted on a California attempted murder charge was nabbed near two elementary schools Tuesday and is being held on more than $3 million bond.
The 21-year-old Jesse Pineda was thought to be near Woolley and Cox elementary schools, which are both on Timberlake Drive near Alexander Road, Metro Police said. The schools were locked down for about a half-hour.
Metro and U.S. Marshals caught up to Pineda around 2 p.m. and took him into custody a few blocks away from the schools without incident, police said.
Pineda was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
