Possible gang-related shooting

Metro Police have released a suspect description as they seek a man who fled the scene of a possible gang-related homicide Monday morning.

The fatal shooting happened at 8:32 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 7100 block of Smoke Ranch Road, near Tenaya Way and U.S. 95. Police said it appears two males argued outside prior to the shooting.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to University Medical Center’s trauma unit, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Authorities said the suspect — described as a Hispanic male, who is about 6-feet tall and 180 pounds — left the area on foot. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and tan cargo shorts.

Authorities’ description also indicates the suspect has very short hair and tattoos on both arms, as well as one on the back of his neck that extends to the back of his head.

Police ask anyone with information about the homicide to contact Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.
