51s end series with Colorado Springs on high note

Brandon Hicks and Mike Baxter had home runs Monday for the Las Vegas 51s in a 12-7 home victory against Colorado Springs in the final game of an eight-game homestand at Cashman Field.

The 51s put up lopsided offensive numbers all night, scoring three runs in the third and eighth innings, and four runs in the fifth.

The Nos. 2 to 5 batters in the Las Vegas lineup — Jamie Hoffmann, Andrew Brown, Ike Davis and Wilmer Flores — each scored two runs.

Catcher Juan Centeno went 3-for-4 with a team-high three RBIs and Flores also had three hits.

Las Vegas went 3-5 on the homestand. Tuesday, they open a series at Tucson. The next home game is Saturday against Salt Lake.
