Letter to the editor:

An experience worth avoiding

Regarding the story “The Fremont Street Experience no longer free at the Golden Nugget”:

As a longtime guest of the Golden Nugget, it surprises and angers me that my hotel has imposed a mandatory $5 fee per night to all guests for the Fremont Street Experience, beginning July 1.

Who are they kidding? This experience is nothing but glaring neon and obnoxiously loud music. Oh, and the horrible smell of cigarettes and beer that often wafts through the air, courtesy of those who attend. The Golden Nugget should pay me $5 because, as a hotel guest, I must endure this sorry spectacle night after night.

Why can’t the Nugget charge the “nominal” fee only to guests who wish to partake in the experience? What will they dream up next, a mandatory “resort” fee?
