Couple’s spat plays out in ‘hit-and-run’ on U.S. 95

Updated Wednesday, June 5, 2013 | 3:02 p.m.

Area of accident

A different kind of a hit-and-run – this one involving a dating couple – led to a lane closure Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 95 near Rainbow Boulevard, authorities said

Around noon, a male rammed his car into a woman’s vehicle until both ended up on the shoulder of southbound U.S. 95, said Trooper Loy Hixson of the Nevada Highway Patrol. The man’s vehicle then hit two additional cars before the man left his vehicle and fled on foot. Authorities believe the first two drivers, both in their 20's, had been dating and the incident was related to an apparent domestic dispute, Hixson said.

Authorities blocked off the right lane of U.S. 95 while the investigation continues but reopened the lane around 2:30 p.m.

The man who fled continues to elude officers, Hixson said.

  1. It is so amazing what blatant disregard people have for one another today. So you have a fight with your significant other, get angry and try to kill her with your car. Fair enough. While displaying your maturity level you also endanger the lives of who knows how many innocent drivers minding their own business. And then to top it off you do what all other mindless idiot drivers seem to love to do here in Vegas.....you run off and hide. Your mother must be so proud. Just a note buddy..if you we're driving your car there might be a small chance the cops now have your license plate number which just might give them your address. Unless of course you are one of those scumbags that lives here for years with your California license plates proudly displayed.

  2. Abdrgnldy, if you have seen more Wisconsin and Indiana plates than California you haven't been here very long
