North Las Vegas resident identified as victim in I-15 fatality

The man who died Sunday evening after a one-car accident on Interstate 15 has been identified as North Las Vegas resident Martin Malasquez, 24, the Clark County Coroner’s Office said.

Around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Malasquez was driving northbound on I-15 in a Mazda RX-8 coupe when he lost control and overturned the vehicle near the Charleston Boulevard exit, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said. Malasquez was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Hixson said.

The official cause of death was cervical spinal trauma resulting from the accident, according to the Coroner’s Office.
