Municipal elections: City council seats in NLV, Mesquite decided

Three new members were elected into city council positions for North Las Vegas and Mesquite Tuesday night following the Clark County municipal general elections.

With the majority of municipal positions decided in the primaries, including the mayoral races in North Las Vegas and Henderson, only three races remained undecided heading into the election. Voters decided city council races in North Las Vegas and Mesquite, and a municipal court judge race in Henderson.

In North Las Vegas, Isaac Barron earned 58 percent of the vote to defeat Jared Hardy to win the vacant city council seat for Ward 1. Barron is replacing Councilman Robert Eliason's vacant seat. Richard Green and W.G. "Geno" Withelder won close races against two other competitors for the two vacant city council seats in Mesquite.

Meanwhile in Henderson, voters re-elected Mark Stevens with 63 percent of the vote for municipal court judge Department I over Sandy DiGiacomo.
