Complete game shutout from Carlos Torres gives 51s their sixth straight win

Carlos Torres pitched a complete game shutout Monday for the Las Vegas 51s at the Frenso Grizzlies, striking out 11 in leading Las Vegas to an 8-0 victory for its sixth straight win.

Torres (5-3) yielded just three hits and didn’t walk a batter, continuing the Las Vegas hot streak — the 51s have surrendered just five runs in their six-game streak.

Eric Campbell went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and three runs scored for Las Vegas, which also received two hits and three RBIs from Francisco Pena.

Brian Bixler and Wilmer Flores each added two hits for the 51s.

Las Vegas will play for the series sweep at 12:05 Tuesday against the host Grizzlies. They are off Wednesday and open a four-game series Thursday at Tacoma.
