Dead ducks prompt testing of water in lakes at Floyd Lamb Park

The city of Las Vegas has closed access to the lakes at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs after as many as 15 ducks were found dead in and around the ponds.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife is testing the water to ensure public and wildlife safety.

Other waterfowl and ducks at the pond appear to be healthy, according to a news release from the city, and there was no evidence the water was contaminated.

Fishing is normally allowed at the lakes but will be prohibited pending test results.

Other areas of the 680-acre park at 9200 Tule Springs Road in the northwest part of the city will remain open to the public.
