More court proceedings are in store for former Nevada Assemblyman Steven Brooks after a judge heard police testimony about a Southern California car chase and police confrontation in March.
A Victorville, Calif. court on Tuesday scheduled Brooks for an arraignment Aug. 6.
KSNV-TV reports Barstow police officer William Spiller testified Tuesday that a disheveled Brooks was arguing with a tow truck driver about a flat tire on March 28.
Spiller says Brooks then took off in his vehicle and led officers on a 20-minute chase.
Forty-one-year-old Brooks was arrested along Interstate 15 in Victorville after a struggle and has been in a San Bernardino County jail ever since.
The confrontation came hours after Nevada lawmakers voted to expel the Democrat from the Legislature in light of his erratic behavior.
