51s fall in 12 innings at Reno

The Las Vegas 51s were defeated in 12 innings Saturday at the Reno Aces, 5-4.

Juan Rivera’s two-out single in the 12th scored the winning run for Reno, giving the Aces their first win against the 51s in the eight-game home-and-home series.

Brandon Hicks had a three-run home run in the first inning for Las Vegas, but the 51s managed just one run the rest of the game. Zach Lutz’s RBI double in the third inning scored Ruben Tejada for the other Las Vegas run.

Lutz and Tejada each had two hits.

With the 51s leading 2-1, the final game of the Reno leg of the series is Sunday before shifting Monday to Cashman Field.
