letter to the editor:

Keep nuclear waste far away

Regarding the proposal to store nuclear waste at Nevada’s Yucca Mountain:

My question is this: Why was Nevada picked to warehouse spent nuclear energy? Couldn’t they have made a deal with Chernobyl?

You can’t take it with you

My favorite amusement park ride as a child was the merry-go-round. Round and round I went on that colorful majestic horse, all the while trying to get that brass ring that always seemed out of my reach.

As a blue-collar adult, I have been on a merry-go-round trying to get that almighty dollar. When I look back, it has been a heck of a dizzying ride. White-collar people have been on that same ride. The only difference with some of them is they cannot get enough of those brass rings to save their souls. A prime example is the criminal case of Dr. Dipak Desai and most criminals, whether they be white or blue collar.

You have to feel sorry for them. They do not realize you cannot take the brass rings with you as ashes in your urn or the box they put you in.
