House fire

A home caught fire Saturday in Henderson.

Henderson Fire responded to calls about 8 a.m. from neighbors who noticed smoke rising from the roof of the home on Parawan Street, near Lake Mead Parkway and Athens Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and fire showing from the roof, said Henderson Fire Battalion Chief Tim McKeever.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

The fire caused about $50,000 in damage and originated on the top floor of the home and extended into the attic, McKeever said. Henderson Fire is working to determine the cause of the fire.
