Hakkasan at MGM Grand

Hakkasan, the new 80,000-square-foot restaurant, lounge and dayclub and nightclub, shows off the first YouTube video look of its creation and construction complete with time-lapse photography. Executives at MGM Grand and Angel Management Group expect to showcase Hakkasan during the first two weeks of April before its grand opening this spring.
HEART HEALTHY: Talk about having heart! A 600-pound giant heart sculpture will be escorted down The Strip on Friday by four MedicWest ambulances to the Luxor. The heart signifies the start of American Heart Month at “Bodies: The Exhibition” there. It will remain on display all month long.
Amanda Daniels, who was diagnosed with heart disease at 18, is the American Heart Association spokeswoman and with more than 100 Cheyenne High students will welcome the sculpture. After sharing her testimony, she’ll lead a tour of the exhibit, and guests will receive free blood pressure and blood glucose screenings.
BRAD’S CLASSES: Actor and comedian Brad Garrett has organized a first-ever Downtown seven-day acting seminar at Art Square Theater beginning March 26. In addition to him leading an exploration of acting with an emphasis on situation comedy, other classes with a lineup of his drama coaching pals will focus on cold readings, audition techniques and character study. Classes will be limited to 20 students.
Brad said: “I am thrilled to introduce some of the top coaches in the country to the Las Vegas acting community. Teaching is a passion of mine, and Vegas has become a second home to me since I opened my comedy club at MGM Grand. There are very few coaches who can teach from experience like the group I have assembled.”
Editor at Large John Katsilometes’ story of Brad’s acting-class plans was posted Tuesday. Brad, who will be seen in the magic movie “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” with Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell in the spring and filmed on The Strip, is currently filming ABC’s new series “How to Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life” premiering in April.
CLUB OPENING: It took three nights of parties and a deluge of DJs to officially reopen the new-look Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel. First up was DJ Steve Duda with DJs Chew Fu and Breedlove in a Lady Gaga concert after-party. BMX rider and reality TV star Ricardo Laguna was among the revelers.
Night two, Mark Farina, in a San Francisco 49ers shirt, and Doc Martin shared the dueling DJ decks. Then the third night was the reopening of the club’s industry party, and De La Soul headlined the celebration with a guest set by The Alkaholiks. De La Soul’s rapper and producer Kelvin Mercer dived into the crowd to perform a song.
STAR SURVEILLANCE
“The Brady Bunch” actor Christopher Knight had breakfast at Society Cafe in Steve Wynn’s Encore.
“The Phat Pack” star Ted Keegan attended the 25th anniversary performance of Broadway’s “Phantom of the Opera” -- he was one of the 16 Phantoms over its quarter-century run. “The Phat Pack” is waiting to resume shows at the Plaza now undergoing renovations.

Though masculine in lines and furnishings, there are sensuous feminine touches to be found within Body English's black leather upholstered walls and oversized booths.
Guests walk down a long flight of stairs which leads to the main entrance of the club. The first focal point that catches the eye is a larger-than-life million dollar, color-changing crystal chandelier that hangs over the main dance floor, offering a touch of elegance while simultaneously offering just enough lighting to create an intimate ambiance.
Around the perimeter of the upstairs level are the main bar and a number of VIP godfather booths, ideal for elite groups. On the main dance floor, additional VIP booths made of elegant black leather circle the room, giving guests the best view of all the action. Complete with its own DJ booth, bar and waitress staff, the room known as The Parlor, which is adjacent to the main dance floor, also offers an intimate experience for separate parties.
