Hot Chip, Heart and Paramore announce Las Vegas shows; Def Leppard extends residency

Def Leppard will play nine shows at the Joint in March and April.

With the spring and summer festival seasons approaching, bands are kicking their tours into high gear. From indie up-and-comers to hard-rock superstars, a spread of musical acts announced Las Vegas shows for fans to look forward to this spring.

British electronic band Hot Chip will take a detour from their Coachella gigs to play The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Thursday, April 18; fellow festival performer and electro enthusiast Four Tet will open for them. Venue and ticket sale information is to be announced.

Rising electro-pop star Marina & The Diamonds also will play The Cosmopolitan at Boulevard Pool on May 7. Tickets cost $20 and go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward will play the same venue under their moniker She amp;& Him on Wednesday, June 19. General-admission tickets are $37 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster and The Cosmopolitan’s website beginning Friday at 10 a.m.

Brooklyn-based quartet The Men will bring their raucous noise punk to the Bunkhouse Saloon on Wednesday, April 24; tickets are $10 and on sale now via Brown Paper Tickets.

The Bunkhouse also announced this week that groundbreaking reggae/ska outfit The Skatalites will play the venue’s outdoor stage Saturday, April 6. Tickets are $15 presale and $20 day of show and also can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets.

If that’s not enough to get your ska fix, Smash Magazine announced the 2013 Viva Ska Vegas festival to be held Saturday, May 4, featuring Reel Big Fish, Suburban Legends, The Skeletones and more. The daylong fest takes place at Henderson Events Plaza beginning at noon. Tickets are $20 to $26 and can be purchased through Ticketfly.com.

Emo-pop stars Paramore return to The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel on May 3 touring behind the reformed band’s self-titled fourth album. Tickets start at $35 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at the Hard Rock Hotel box office and via Ticketmaster.

Recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Heart will celebrate their place in the rock Class of 2013 with a victory lap gig at Green Valley Ranch Grand Events Center on Friday, April 13. Tickets are $47 to $91 and go on sale Friday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster; there will be a presale for fans Tuesday, Feb. 5, and Thursday, Feb. 7.

Rounding out this week’s announcements is Def Leppard, who expanded their upcoming “Viva Hysteria!” residency at The Joint with two new shows on April 12 and 13. The arena rockers kick off the slate of shows on Friday, March 22. Tickets start at $49.50 and are on sale now at the Hard Rock box office and through Ticketmaster.
