Reid insists he will bring gun-control legislation to Senate floor

Sen. Harry Reid still hasn’t articulated his feelings about stepping up gun bans and background checks, – and it is leading some Republicans to question the majority leader’s commitment to bringing up a proposal. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday he was “unclear” about whether Reid “wants to bring a gun measure to the floor.” Reid bristled at the suggestion, telling reporters: “I’m going to do everything within my power to bring legislation dealing with guns, with violence generally, to the floor.” But Reid would not say whether he planned to support California Democratic Sen. 1. This whole "gun control" debate would be funny if it weren't so sad.

All this rancor over banning a few guns and magazines is such a waste of time and becomes so tiring to the vast majority of us not on the far right or left.

An estimated 200 million guns are privatly owned in this country. The fact that almost no gun deaths, as a percentage, are attributed to lawful gun owners says that current procedures and laws work far beyond our wildest dreams.

Excluding certain large, metropolitan areas that have STRICT gun laws, but oddly, many gun deaths.

  2. NRA has advocated strengthening back ground (NCIC) checks for years. Pleaded with congress to fund it before anyone else thought of it. Congress ignored them, didn't want to spend the money.

  3. Harry Reid is nothing more than a Dirty Filthy Liar. The only thing Harry Reid knows how to do is tell Lies, Lies, and More Lies. He is a Dirty, Filthy Liar who continuously Spouts Dirty, Filthy Lies. He has no other ability.

  4. Here's a new concept that won't take up valuable Senate time. Enforce the laws that already exist. New laws and bans are another waste of time and taxpayer dollars....
Then again Harry doesn't have anything else to do...

  5. Reid isn't telling the truth. He'll never bring it to the floor for a vote. The votes are simply not there.

  6. Yaddah...yaddah....yaddah....
