Las Vegans were greeted Monday morning to snow sprinkling onto the desert floor.
But don’t grab the shovels or snow boots. Las Vegas National Weather Service meteorologist Andrew Gorelow said the flurries won’t last.
The mixture of a cold front flowing over the Las Vegas Valley and precipitation have made the conditions ripe for brief snow flurries, Gorelow said.
Most of the snow has been seen in areas of higher elevation, east of Green Valley Parkway and west of Boulder Highway, he said. The front is making its way east and is expected to pass through Henderson and leave the valley by about 9:30 a.m.
