A tour of Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013. Nobu opens to the public on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.

The first of four Nobu hotels opens at Caesars Palace this weekend, and I received a walking tour of the venue on Sunday. It’s a stunning beauty and obviously will be a smash hit. The restaurant, which seats 327, is a 13,000-square-foot marvel with Nobu’s first-ever teppanyaki rooms and group pod lounges framed in basket weaving in the cocktail bar areas all lit by slivered paper lights that resemble puffy white clouds.
The new Nobu Hotel with iPad check-in and escorted service to its 181 rooms and suites opens to guests Sunday after a red-ribbon ceremony with Nobu Matsuhisa and his longtime business partner actor Robert De Niro on Saturday. It’s taken nearly two years to renovate the Centurian Tower for its conversion to the Nobu Hotel. Others will be opened in Saudi Arabia, London and Bahrain.
The Caesars Palace outpost becomes the largest of Nobu’s 26 worldwide restaurants and is located between the new Nobu Way at Old Homestead and Appian Way. I’m told plans are under review now to see how Cleopatra’s Barge can be updated and modernized to fit into the new-look area.
We’ll get first look at the hotel suites on Friday. Guests won’t have to check in at the main Caesars lobby desks; they will be escorted to the Nobu Tower and use iPad technology to the suites where the check-in process will be handled.
Gigi Vega is Nobu Hotel’s general manager, with New York architect David Rockwell the designer of the Japanese experience. In another first, Nobu’s restaurant will provide 24-hour room service for guests in the new tower. Sushi and sake for breakfast, anyone?

Transport yourself to the opulent and excessive Roman Empire at Caesars Palace. But the ever-changing Caesars Palace is far from ancient. The hotel and casino is constantly raising the bar for what visitors can expect in a Vegas resort experience.
Caesars Palace features 3,348 rooms and suites in five towers, including the new luxury boutique Nobu Hotel and Restaurant, which opened Feb. 4, 2013, in the totally remodeled Centurian Tower. Caesars features 129,000 square feet of gaming space, including the Strip’s largest poker room and a 250-seat sports book. Other amenities include about two dozen restaurants, a four-level shopping mall, four pools, a spa, Pure and Poetry nightclubs and Pussycat Dolls.
Dining options include restaurants from world-renown chefs Guy Savoy, Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsay and, on Feb. 4, 2013, Nobu Matsuhisa.
You never know what characters you’ll run into at Caesars with regular performers like Jerry Seinfeld, Bette Midler, Elton John and maybe even the emperor himself.
