Mexican consul returning to homeland after eight strong years in Las Vegas

Mariano Lemus likes to meet the people who he is in charge of helping as the consul general of Mexico in Las Vegas. He regularly roams the large waiting room at the consulate in his daily uniform: a suit, tie and thin, wire-rimmed glasses. He shakes hands, greets toddlers and introduces himself to the dozens of people in line or filling out forms. It was not long ago that more than 200 people per day would file through a small rented office in downtown Las Vegas for consular business. The space was crowded and afforded little room for anything other ...

  1. Congratulations on a good job as the Mexican Counsul in Las Vegas. We Americans thank you and your government for issuing thousands of government ID Cards and passports to the illegal alien population here. These cards allow them to open bank accounts, get bank loans and blend into the general population. The government of Mexico continues to undermine the sovernty of the United States with impunity. Again enjoy you retirement.

  2. good bye and good riddance

can you take the 8 or 10 or 12 million illegal aliens and their anchor baby offspring with you when you leave? hope so.

or maybe send back the untaxed $750 billion dollars or so in illegal under-the-table paychecks in the form of wire remittances transferred back to your home country that were sent to "las familias"?

or how about paying back the trillions of dollars in medical, education, housing, welfare payments that we had to fork over to keep your homeland's illegal aliens and their anchor baby offspring fed, housed, medicated, and educated?

and why don't you go on the record and tell US citizens that they will be immediately arrested and thrown in jail if they cross into your homeland as illegal aliens - or is that too much openess for you?

or own up to the fact that all these billions in untaxed remittances sent back to your home country are the second highest form of income in your country - after oil. and pretty soon the usa won't need your oil, too.

or how about los zetas? what about them? aren't you going to own up to the fact that they were once your homeland's pride military troops? now turned to cocaine, meth, heroine, and marijuanna mafia killers who have more gun and firepower than the usa border patrol? c'mon, man, own up.

like i said at the beginning - goodbye and good riddance

  3. mar100 and truthserum, you do realize that all of these thing you mention that make you glad to see him go are things that our government allows? It's like blaming the dog for eating a burger you've left in his bowl.

As long as our country has the biggest drug addiction on the planet, there will be people willing to provide it to us. As long as our country prefers cheap labor for everything from your backyard renovation to major projects there will be plenty of cheap labor supplied.

It's 100% in our court to solve 99% of the issues you mentioned. Either by law and policies or by changing how we do things.

  4. What a travesty--complimenting a foreigner and his country for killing our economy.

  5. They did not kill our economy, Americans killed our economy.

You always want it cheaper but you want top dollar to produce it.

You can't have it both ways.

Typical of most Americans. Always looking for someplace or someone to lay the blame on.
