The possibility of the industry abandoning Los Angeles County was triggered when voters there in November passed a law requiring performers to wear condoms during sex scenes. The industry isn’t thrilled, saying it would be off-putting to viewers. What might compel producers to move their businesses to Nevada, which has no such law, and what might keep them away? Pro: Lower production cost Nevada doesn’t ...

  1. Wear condoms!
It's not going to turn anybody off but actually
show that the men and women are protecting
themselves from disease! That in itself is a turn on!
Safe sex is the best sex!

  2. The perfect legal defense for any high-end escort service or street hooker - is to simply have the john enter into a hand written contract and film the sex act as a porn production.

  3. The porn industry "threatens" to move periodically. But it's simply an empty threat. It's simply NOT practical. Will never happen.

  4. "Safe sex is the best sex!" Maybe in reality but not in fantasy and movies are fantasy. No one dreams of having protected sex with this hot babe or that super stud. They simply dream of getting down with a fantasy girl or boy and not considering the ramifications.

From a creative aspect it would be like requiring characters in a harlequin novel to wear condoms which none of them do. Yes, yes, I understand these are real people with the potential for real disease exchange but the product they are selling is for the purposes of fantasy.

The majority of consumers want to see sex without condoms so if L.A. can't provide that other places will.

  5. "Wear condoms!"

missd -- that would be up to the talent and their contracts. If it's no big deal to them why would it be to you?

"I heartily accept the motto, 'That government is best which governs least'; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically." -- Henry David Thoreau 1849 "On the Duty of Civil Disobedience"

  6. The pornos are coming the pornos are coming!!!! (no pun intended). It's not like they're going to stand out in the crowd as in comparrison to what you see walking up and down the strip or hanging out in the night clubs. Oh,, maybe they will have a scene where someone is leaving Las Vegas via Red Rock Canyon like all the other movies shot here. Hey don't worry all you self righteous bible thumpers there's a lot of elected and appointed officials that belong to a certain religous denomination that will fight this all the way.

  7. In a Capitalistic society, we all prostitute ourselves. We just do it in different ways.
