CARSON CITY — A former member of the staff of Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., is joining the office of Gov. Brian Sandoval.
The governor Tuesday named Stewart “Mac” Bybee as director of public relations and community affairs, filling the position that has been vacant since October. Bybee will earn $110,000.
Mary-Sarah Kinner, who has been press secretary for the governor, will now have the title of communications director with expanded duties.
Bybee managed media relations and communications for six years while Heller was a member of the House of Representatives. He also was a legislative correspondent for former Sen. John Ensign.
Bybee, who grew up in Carson City, also worked for former U.S. Sen. Richard Bryan.
He will be involved in congressional and state legislative issues, as well as overseeing public affairs and constituent services.
