WASHINGTON — Stepping into his second term, President Barack Obama took the oath of office Sunday in an intimate swearing-in ceremony at the White House, the leader of a nation no longer in the throes of the recession he inherited four years ago, but still deeply divided. The president, surrounded by family in the ornate White House Blue Room, was administered the oath by Chief Justice John Roberts. As President Obama and our nation rolls up sleeves and gets to work, we all should have objectives we will work towards accomplishing in the next four years. It cannot be done overnight or instantly, but by determination and working together collectively.
There is much work to be done, and it can only be done with folks coming together and working cooperatively. We have to do what is in the best interests of the People of the United States of America and the world. Whether this work is done the top down or from those at the bottom going up, the work ahead MUST be done and not continuously "kicking the can down the road." The option to do that is gone, we are a nation and People in crisis.
