For Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and his top lieutenants, the challenges of balancing the 2014 Senate map and President Barack Obama’s second-term agenda could cause as many headaches as anything Republicans throw at them. Overall, 20 Democratic-held Senate seats are up for grabs next year, versus 13 for Republicans. Democratic incumbents face re-election in solidly red states such as Alaska, Arkansas, Louisiana, Montana and South Dakota, all of which Obama lost by double-digit margins in November. A little more than a year after Obama is sworn in to another term, there will be high-profile Senate races in swing ...

The first real test of Democrat solidarity will be if the Senate will pass a budget this year.
After the fiscal cliff and Obamacare resulted in over a trillion dollar in new taxes including the payroll tax increase on the middle class coupled with NO SPENDING CONTROLS.
All Americans are looking for control of spending
---
Some Democrats are livid with the idea that Conservatives will extend raising the debt ceiling until May - until after Reid and the Senate must pass the Budget.
But this is really what Obama demands. That the debt ceiling should be raised to reflect the laws - the obligations - passed by Congress.
That requires that a budget resolution must be passed by the Senate. Only 51 votes are required.
This budget resolution sets limits on revenues and spending that may be enforced in Congress through procedural points of order. The President's proposed 2014-2023 budget will be submitted shortly allowing Reid to pass a budget for the first time in four years.
We'll see if Hairy is true to his pro-gun stance, or goes with the social engineer in the White House on this issue.
We have never been able to trust Hairy in Nevada. We shall see if this will be a first.
The Prez can not spend (turn off the Limbaugh) the Congress spends. It is not a problem for Reid, it is a problem for Obama and he is not going to be re-elected.
Since we are at war with terrorists (in Mali) all these mean-spirited attacks on Reid are treasonous and sedition. Reid is fighting the forces of darkness everyday.
Jobs, medicare and Social Security should be the issue, not guns.
While the registering of guns and tighter background checks have high support, making it more difficult for honest, hard-working and law-abiding Americans to obtain guns for hunting, collecting or self-defense do not and those "Red" state Dumbocrats are fully aware of the danger in imposing hurdles on them. Whatever else one thinks or feels about guns, they are Constitutionally protected just as is freedom of religion, press and association and trying to nibble away at those freedoms will not sit well with intelligent and socially aware citizens. Senators and Congressmen who try, do so at their own political peril.
Reid spends full-time on partisan politics and ZERO TIME on getting illegals out of Nevada.
So let's get a Constitutional lawyer to explain it to AG Holder and company: you WANT local law enforcement to jump through hoops on Executive Orders (not laws) regarding gun possession but those same local law enforcement officers are not allowed to enforce the U.S. Constitution regarding illegal invasion? Where is Homeland Security?
As long as we have Reid in office things will not change. We have to throw him out and work out a fair plan for the Illegals who BO and Harry are indebted to. If they cared about us Legals this country would be a better . I have never seen a Pres that is so confrontational when someone disagrees with him . We don't have dialogue we have nothing with this Pres. One example when he was Senator he criticized Bush that he was spending too much money by raising the debt and we should not increase the debt and live within our means. BO is like the character fr RED Skelton do as I say not as I do .
mred, we aren't at war with terrorists. Obama told us years ago they don't exist anymore. We are fighting protesters, silly.
Nothing new with the red state Democrats.
