Victims in 3 fatal traffic accidents identified

Three people killed in three separate car accidents on Monday have been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

The first crash happened about 6:20 a.m. The coroner’s office said Farrlyn Gaston Diaz, 54, of Las Vegas died after a head-on collision with a semitrailer on Interstate 15 near Lamb Boulevard.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremie Elliott said Diaz was driving north on I-15 when she drifted across the median and crashed into the oncoming truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a car-pedestrian accident, an 86-year-old woman was killed after she was struck while crossing north on Lake Mead Boulevard about 10:50 a.m. outside a marked crosswalk, Metro Police said. The coroner’s office identified her as Ann Elizabeth Bursik of Las Vegas.

In a separate crash, 3-year-old Emily Kay of Henderson was killed in a head-on crash between a sedan and a sport utility vehicle about noon near Eastern Avenue and Pebble Road, officials said.

Metro Police said Kay was in a sedan driven by a 29-year-old man that collided with an SUV making a left turn.

Kay and the driver were transported University Medical Center, where Kay later died. The man was in critical condition, police said.
