North Las Vegas Mayor Shari Buck’s State of the City address today focused on rebuilding. Speaking at the Texas Station convention center underneath a backdrop of construction tools, Buck began by addressing the difficulties of 2012. “To be honest, you all know this has been a time of challenge, a time of change,” Buck said in her speech. “But we are confident we can begin to rebuild our city.” Last year, the city entered the New Year facing a budget gap exceeding $30 million. After stalled negotiations with its police, firefighter and teamster unions, the city council voted unanimously to ...

Did the mayor address why she lied in a town hall meeting stating how no one from the city had been laid off, when in fact the city laid off fire employees? So jobs are now coming to NLV?!?!?! Good luck with that since you keep sacrificing the publics safety by cutting fire and police. Mayor why don't you address why you keep cutting city employees and jeopardizing public safety while you keep calling upon the City and County of Las Vegas to cover for your poor decisions.
Like any promises from a politician especially about creating jobs ala Sandoliar, I will believe it when I see it. In the meantime why don't you first focus on getting a handle on the violence in your city? Certain parts of NLV make Detroit look like disney land kiddo, but you probably can't see that from your ivory tower.
Why have the taxpayers of North Las Vegas not marched on their new city hall tower and dragged this insane, delusional Mayor Buck and her sniveling City Manager out of office. I watched her speech last night, and everything that she said was either a blatant lie or a complete fabrication of sheer fantasy. Why do the other 4 Council Members not just have their fire department transport her over to local hospital there to have her head checked?
