Man is shot, killed in eastern Las Vegas Valley

A man was shot and killed in the eastern valley Monday night, according to Metro Police. Officers were called to the 400 block of Page Street — near East Stewart Avenue and North Lamb Boulevard — about 6:15 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of gunfire in the neighborhood. As officers fanned around the area, they came across a man's body about a block away. The body was on a sidewalk on the 4600 block of Miratan Street, said Lt. Dan Zehnder. There's a lot of gun violence in this area of Vegas, maybe the city could do a gun for gift cards event like they held in California to get some of these guns off the street.
