Angel Management Group, the burgeoning entertainment, restaurant and nightlife empire, has this morning confirmed my report from a week ago that it is taking over management of Chateau Nightclub at the Paris starting today. The venue now becomes the 12th in the company’s explosive growth on the Strip, in Atlantic City and the Bahamas.
AMG, run by British mogul Neil Moffitt, says it’s on time for a spring opening of the 75,000-square-foot, $200 million complex Hakkasan at MGM Grand, which will be one of the largest, if not the largest, dining and nightlife complexes in the United States. Chateau is 45,000 square feet with two stories and three nightlife zones.
* “Jersey Shore” star Paul “DJ Pauly D “ DelVecchio signed a 12-month residency deal Monday for monthly appearances at Haze in Aria at MGM’s CityCenter. It thus ends his run at the Hard Rock Hotel, where he last spun Dec. 30 at Vanity.
Pauly, who is in town this week promoting his SMS Audio headphones with 50 Cent at CES, debuts at Haze on Jan. 19 and promises to spin his first single from his debut album on 50 Cent’s G-Note Records about to be released.
* Say hello to Pure Lounge, an alternative-nightlife experience at the former Pussycat Dolls Lounge in Caesars Palace that sees the venue opening Monday through Thursday at 5 p.m. It’s been transformed into a live-music destination with a state-of-the-art performance stage.
Singer-songwriter Suzie McNeil, the last woman standing on CBS’ “Rockstar: INXS,” kicked off the run Monday night. Her early evening show is an acoustic, melodious format, but her second and third sets will allow guests to dance along with her guitarist, keyboard player, percussionist and DJ with two choreographed dancers. Each performance also includes a karaoke segment. Pure Lounge and Pure Nightclub, both operated by AMG, are separate nightlife venues.
*Hotel mogul Steve Wynn didn’t let the move of some of his nightclub DJs (Deadmau5, Tiesto) jumping to rival Hakkasan and AMG venues faze him one iota. On Monday, he unveiled a 42-strong roster of headline deck dukes for this season’s shenanigans. Steve’s lieutenants at XS, Tryst, Surrender and Encore Beach Club have been given a strong lineup of star-name soldiers to continuing firing successful shots in the raging war.
They include Afrojack, Avicii, Cedric Gervais, David Guetta, Diplo, Dirty South, Eric Prydz, Jermaine Dupri, John Dahlback, Lil Jon, Manufactured Superstars, Martin Solveig, Max Vangeli, Porter Robinson, Redfoo, Sidney Samson, Skrillex, Steve Angello, Will.I.Am, Wolfgang Gartner and 22 others.
“2012 was a monumental year for dance music and our nightclubs,” said Jesse Waits, managing partner of XS and Tryst, in a news release. “We have an unrivaled roster of residencies again in 2013, including major headliners and the DJs we believe to be the next superstars of this genre. We plan to maintain our reputation as the Mecca of dance music through these exclusive partnerships.”
Sean Christie, managing partner of Surrender, EBC and the new Andrea’s, added: “Our reinvigorated and ramped-up DJ roster offers the broadest representation of electronic dance music in Las Vegas.”

In the spirit of Venice, The Venetian is a little piece of romantic Italy right here in Las Vegas. The Venetian is an "all-suite" hotel, with rooms accented with plush linens and Italian marble. The 4,027 suites are divided into two towers: The 36-story Venetian Tower that offers guests a taste of luxurious Las Vegas and the Venezia suites, which guarantee 12 floors of high-end elegance. The top five floors are the hotel's highest level of luxury with its private access, concierge lounge, upgraded features and even a dedicated staff.
The flagship of Venetian nightlife is TAO, an ultra-hip nightclub located inside of TAO Asian Bistro. V Bar is The Venetian's super smooth ultra lounge, made by the owners of New York City's club Lotus and Los Angeles' super swank Sunset Room.
The Venetian features 19 restaurants including Thomas Keller's award-winning French restaurant Bouchon, Mario Batali's B&B Ristorante, Aquaknox for fresh seafood and the 42,000 square foot TAO Asian Bistro. There's also the food court inside the Canal Shoppes for those looking for a quick bite.
Guests can float along The Grand Canal Shops in an authentic Italian gondola ride and pass stores like Burberry and Kenneth Cole along the way. And if you haven't caught a real celeb, on the street in Vegas, you can head over to Madame Tussauds to check out a wax version.
