Washington — Sen. Harry Reid hits a milestone today, becoming Nevada's longest-serving member of Congress, with 10,957 days tenure — or just about 30 years. He will likely be marking the occasion by wrapping up business for the 112th Congress. Reid came to Congress as a member of the House of Representatives in 1983, after being elected to represent Nevada's 1st Congress District in the first session Nevada had a two-seat delegation. He didn't stay long — only two terms — before winning a Senate seat in 1986. It's there that he built his career, becoming the Democrats' whip in 1999 and ...

Harry's been there way too long and is now senile. Considering this jerk has not done a damn thing for Nevada since becoming the top Democrazy in the Senate - it is time to ride off into the sunset.
Is there really a record for incompetence that Harry doesn't already own??
Service? I think the headline should have read Reid sets record for collecting a paycheck!
I think I'm going to puke.
Every time I think Republicans are wrong to argue against evolution, I read comments like the ones posted here and conclude that Darwin was wrong.
I agree with Michael. I've had a few Republican friends express real hatred toward Senator Reid but when asked why they were unable to articulate the source of their distain. The issues of western states are underrepresented in Washington. The benefit of having the majority leader in the Senate from our home state is huge if for no other reason than his work to keep Yucca Mountain from becoming the dumping ground for the nation's nuclear waste.

I thought the article was about Reid setting a record for the longest the country has gone without a budget, some 1300 plus days. Or maybe set the record for the lies he told about Romney during the campaign but then I remembered that this is the Sun and realized a real story about Reids failure to do his job wouldn't be written here.
