Man killed in rollover crash on Interstate 15

Updated Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 | 8:14 a.m.

Troopers are investigating a rollover crash on Interstate 15 in which a man was ejected and killed Monday night, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported.

The crash happened about 10:30 p.m. on I-15 North, near the 215 Beltway exit ramp, Trooper Loy Hixson said.

The 43-year-old California man lost control of a 2006 Saturn View sport utility vehicle, Hixson said. The SUV rolled and the man, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle, he said.

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, died at the scene, Hixson said.

The crash is still under investigation, but the highway should be cleared in the next half hour, he said.
