Two men are dead after a truck driving the wrong way on U.S. 95 north of Las Vegas collided with another vehicle Friday afternoon, the Nevada Highway Patrol said. The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. when a black 2008 Ford truck was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of U.S. 95 near mile marker 94, north of the Mount Charleston exit, NHP spokesman Trooper Loy Hixson said. The Ford truck collided with a white 2004 Chevrolet truck at a high rate of speed, killing both drivers, Hixson said. There were no other injuries from the accident. As of 5:45 ...

There may have been a medical episode in this situration and it is ashamed that another innocent victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Looks like we need to ban trucks.
Very sad and unfortunate. Were there no patrol vehicles in or around this area to notice a vehicle driving the wrong way?? Alcohol, medical...who knows...where was law enforcement.
Trashley,
What's with "where's law enforcement" in every post you write? If it was up to you we would all be chained to a police officer. What did u want anyone to do a truck is most likely traveling at 100+mph the wrong way what would you like law enforcement to do in a split second you act like the guy drove to California the wrong way. Maybe you should get your badge and start helping out since it seems you have all the right answers. There is no pill for stupid unfortunately so you will just have to wait it out:)
AshleyAshley,
It's a very large valley and the cops can't be in all places at all times.
Author, trucks or pickup trucks? Your article is not clear.
Southern Nevada is not off to good start for traffic fatalaties so far this year. More presence by State troopers would help curb the highway accidents , I know ya can't fix stupid but just a presence would help.
So fedup2here, so you would support a tax increase to hire more officers? I would support such a measure but how many countless people are steadfast in opposing new taxes, regardless of its usage?
If the driver didn't know he(?) was entering the wrong ramp to the highway why would he alter his(?) action if a cop were present?
For that matter, how could a cop being present affect this other than *maybe* being able to block the vehicle as it attempted to enter the wrong ramp?
Get real, people.
Cop or no cop - how in the heck did this guy NOT realize he was going the wrong way? Was he impaired to the point he had no idea where he was going? Maybe it was a medical episode. Maybe.
